SUNSHINE
SUNSHINE
campfire protest song written during the WTO protests in DC - had to lay a banjo in for that wandering feel, for a little of that sourness in the back of your throat
Sunshine
When will the sun shine on everyone
The same as falls the rain
When will the sun shine on everyone the same
Took a trip to Washington to wander through those halls
raised my voice a time or two it still seemed kind of small
Saw a stature of Lincoln there carved in marble white
and the names of men who died
doing what they were told was right
When will the sun shine on everyone
The same as falls the rain
When will the sun shine on everyone the same
And as I walked some rain did fall onto those steaming grates
and trickled down the avenues and spilled upon my plate
Soaked right through the blanket I was using to stay dry
Pelted down on those who passed me by
When will the sun shine on everyone
The same as falls the rain
When will the sun shine on everyone the same
There's fields out in Arlington where crosses bloom in white
and the tombs of the Kennedy's are blazing in the night
Somedays the sun does shine somedays the rain does fall
Rain or shine it falls on one and all
When will the sun shine on everyone
The same as falls the rain
When will the sun shine on everyone the same
When will the sun shine on everyone
The same as falls the rain
When will the sun shine on everyone the same
